Some of the most honest filmmaking happening in the Gulf right now isn't coming from a studio but from young people with a camera, a shared idea, and a genuine reason to tell the story. That's exactly the spirit behind Reclaim It, the latest short film from Kuwait's Direct Tales Media, premiering at a Gala Night on June 27 with Intajco proud to be the main sponsor.
Direct Tales Media is a non-profit indie filmmaking collective founded in August 2024, led by Bader Al-Bloushi, a recent graduate from American University of Kuwait. Started as a summer project with a single camera, a handful of team members and a strong desire to create something tangible, has evolved into one of Kuwait’s most exciting young creative agencies. The collective is organized around one simple premise: visual storytelling is important, and young talent in the Gulf region should be given a proper platform. "Reclaim It." is their most ambitious work yet. The film explores themes of breaking free from the rigid cycles of modern life, rediscovering creativity, and reigniting dormant dreams. A subject that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt trapped by routine. Al-Bloushi, who has spoken openly about burnout within his own team, brings an authenticity to the material that is hard to manufacture. Directed by Al-Bloushi himself, the film stars Ziad Kazbour, Nour Salameh, Mishal Al-Qadri, Rayan Al-Mekaimi, Dushan Mohan, and Al-Bloushi himself. For Intajco, sponsoring this premiere is not just a gesture of goodwill. It is a statement about what the platform exists to do. Connecting emerging talent with real opportunities, supporting independent productions that deserve a wider audience, and helping the Gulf's next generation of filmmakers find their footing: that is Intajco's work, in practice. The Gala Night premiere of Reclaim It takes place on June 27 at Silver Ballroom in City Tower Hotel. Tickets are available via PIQR.Share
